“Denton Pedicab” is a beautifully shot and produced short documentray on an immigrant entrepreneur who found a cheap solution for barhoppers in “a drinking town with a college problem.”

Laurent Prouvost noticed that after a night of drinking, students from nearby University of Northern Texas, in Denton, Texas, were choosing to drive home drunk rather than paying for a cab. Prouvost took it upon himself to organize a crew of pedicab drivers to provide free rides after last call for alcohol, paying for it with advertising on the bicycle powered carriages and accepting tips from riders.

I particulaly enjoyed Danny Fulgencio’s sound design, and his shot selection is well thought out and methodic in execution, bringing viewers into the peripheries of nightlife and the people who occupy it.
